Just over five weeks until kick off of arguably the World's biggest sporting occasion - the FIFA World Cup.
39 days to be precise until the competition kicks off in Qatar with England starting their campaign on the second day of the competition facing Iran at 1pm (GMT).
This year's competition has sparked a huge amount of debate amongst football fans, pundits, players, staff etc as it will be the first competition to be held in November and December rather than a traditional June and July tournament.
Resulting from this, the European football leagues have had to massively alter their league schedules and there seems to be a lot of apprehension of how the tournament will play out. Will players benefit from the tournament being held mid season or will it hinder them? Will the tournament be enjoyable for fans both at home or within the host countries?
Personally speaking as a football fan but one that will be staying at home throughout the tournament, I am looking forward to a Winter tournament to see how this will benefit the England team who should be 'fresher' to play rather than after an exhausting season at home in the Premier League.
The World Cup is always a fantastic tournament to watch and is one that I think most people look forward to viewing every four years.
Here at SJ's Leisure, we will be taking in as much football action as we can view and look forward to hopefully seeing the England team progress as far as possible. Hopefully we'll be watching the team on Sunday 18th December as they compete in the World Cup final. It would be a lovely Christmas gift just a week before the big day if England can lift the Jules Rimet Trophy.
Good luck to all teams and players competing!
