Inflatable and Fun Product Hire in Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside
Following the outbreak of COVID-19 earlier this year, we, as a professional hire company reviewed our cleaning procedures to provide the cleanest products to our customers. By doing this, we feel we've helped to minimise the risk of cross contamination between households and also reassured our customers that we put them first. It's always safety first with SJ's Leisure!
Once the pandemic really took a hold back in March, we contacted the relevant organisations for guidance such as the Health and Safety Executive, regional Public Health bodies etc. Using advice from these organisations, we decided to implement a 72 hour isolation period for products. This meant that a product would not be hired both 72 hours before a hire and 72 hours following a hire. This decision was made as early indications from scientific studies was that the Coronavirus could potentially last on plastic and PVC surfaces for a maximum of 72 hours. However, this study has been questioned and further studies seem to show that the likelihood is that the half life is much, much shorter than 72 hours.
In terms of physically cleaning the products, we like to clean everything thoroughly with hot water and soap. As everyone will have heard incessantly since March, the best way to kill the Coronavirus is to use hot water and soap as this will help to erode the 'fatty membrane and expose the virus'. Following a good old fashioned deep clean, we then spray products down with a virucidal and antibacterial solution which conforms with EN 1276 as well as passing EN 14476. This solution is recommended for use in health care environments, schools, nurseries and the leisure industry. The contact time is approximately 5 minutes which means the solution is active 5 minutes following application.
We follow this cleaning regime for all suitable products such as inflatable bouncy castles, soft play, ball pools, inflatable games, sports inflatables and much more. For products where deep cleaning with hot water and soap is not suitable i.e. electronic games etc, we continue with the application of a virucidal solution and also an isolation period before and after every hire.
We also keep a photo log of products being cleaned in between hires and this is available for customers to view at their request.
Customers are welcome to sanitise equipment whilst on hire and this can be achieved by using an antibacterial / virucidal solution of their choice. We ask that bleach based products are not used as this can damage the equipment which would result in a repair / replace bill for the customer. Customers can also request that products are cleaned on delivery if this reassures them, please speak to your delivery team about this who will be happy to help.
All of our staff have access to alcohol based hand sanitiser, work / disposable gloves, face masks and are cleaning their hands with hot water and soap regularly and sanitising their hands between deliveries and collections. Staff are also following UK Government guidelines in regards to social distancing and we ask customers to keep themselves and our staff safe by observing these guidelines.
