VE Day 2020
Friday 8th May 2020 is this year's Early May Bank Holiday. This bank holiday was changed from the usual first Monday of the month to the second Friday of the month to commemorate and celebrate the 75th anniversary of the ending of the Second World War. This date was planned to be a massive UK bank holiday celebration filled with street parties and camaraderie between communities. Unfortunately as everyone is aware, the current health crisis in the form of COVID-19 has taken some of the shine away from this event but we can still enjoy it with our nearest and dearest and respecting social distancing guidelines from the UK Government.
This date would have been a date that we would have been taking lots of bouncy castle and inflatable bookings. Google search engine results for bouncy castle hire in Warrington and bouncy castle hire in St Helens would have sent customers flooding to our websites to arrange their event entertainment for this date and it's a shame that under the current guidelines issued by the UK Government that we are unable to currently offer our hire products to our fantastic customers. Hopefully the next update, expected around 7/8th May 2020 may see a 'slight relaxation' of social distancing guidelines which will allow us to offer bouncy castle hire for households but not for large social gatherings but we'll have more information about this as it's released. Fingers crossed.
Anyway, back to VE Day 2020, although celebrations will be starting on Friday 8th May 2020, the celebration is stated for the full weekend (8th May 2020 - 10th May 2020).
There is lots to watch and do on Friday and the coming weekend and we've listed some of these events below.
Friday 8th May 2020 @ 11am - 2 minutes silence with participants encouraged to take part how they wish i.e. standing on their doorstep, standing in their windows, sat in a moment of reflection or stepping outside of their homes. All is encouraged as long as social distancing guidelines are adhered to.
