06 January 20 - A look back at Christmas 2019

Firstly, happy new year to everyone!

All the team here at SJ's Leisure hope that you had a fantastic Christmas and a very happy new year and that 2020 is shaping up nicely for you already. We're just getting back into the swing of things here at head office. January and February is a time of year where we try and get a little rest after a hectic 10 months and we try to plan out the upcoming year - what we want to add to the range, what we are thinking of replacing or getting rid of, how can we improve on our service from last year, goals for the year etc etc. We also spend a lot of time updating our websites. This involves updating category text, product descriptions, adding new photos and videos to product listings etc. It's a lot of time consuming tasks but one which sets us up nicely for the year ahead.

Anyway - back to last month.

Our Christmas parties and events tend to start earlier each and every year. Christmas is a massive annual event as everyone knows and it just seems to become bigger every year. Most companies will organise a Christmas party, this may be solely for staff or it could be for staff and their families / children etc. We've noticed a lot more promotional events taking place at Christmas too as businesses look to advertise their products and services before or during the festive period. By offering a branding service to many of our products, we are asked very often to supply inflatable and fun products for promotional events for example, a car dealership may want to advertise their newest model in their showroom by hiring a photobooth and personalising the prints with the company logo or an image of the vehicle or even featuring a voucher code / QR code. This can all be arranged and designed by our in-house team.

During November and December we also cover a large number of school Christmas parties and events. These are always fantastic fun to be a part of. To see children with huge smiles on their faces enjoying the inflatable and fun products and being so excited for Christmas. Lovely!

A highlight from December was the Everton FC Christmas party which we were delighted to a part of for the second successive year. Throughout the year, we cover a number of events for Everton FC and have a fantastic working relationship with our contacts within the events team at Everton. The brief from the events team was to supply a Christmas fun day which would cater for around 100 season ticket holders who were aged up to around 12/13. We supplied the following products;

These products were used throughout the event which ran for around 90 minutes and all products were enjoyed by the children and the special guests, the first team squad at Everton! Always great sports, the first team arrived at the start of the events and mingled with young fans, taking photos, playing on the inflatables and the games, playing football related skill games (penalty shoot-out against Jordan Pickford etc). It was fantastic and a real pleasure to be a part of. Everton FC have a reputation for being a really classy club and looking after their fans and it really shows with events created like this.

We got some great images from the events which can be found on our Facebook and Instagram profiles including some snaps of Alex Iwobi on our Rodeo Reindeer (below) and also Yerry Mina and Richarlison inside our inflatable snow globe (main photo on this news article).

There was a fantastic video which captured the event by Everton FC which you can see by clicking here, check out midfielder Tom Davies' singing at the end.

So that was just a quick recap on the end of 2019. All staff had a fantastic Christmas and New Year break and have returned to work today, eager to get on with 2020 and enjoy another year of providing inflatable and fun products to our fantastic customers across the North-West.

We look forward and hope to see you again this year!
