We're now in the final month of 2016 and it's been another productive year here at SJ's Leisure in all senses of the word. We've had a fantastic year yet again with many, many highlights and it's been great to see many of our loyal, valued customers throughout the year and gaining many more customers in our local area such as St Helens, Wigan, Warrington, Widnes, Leigh, Liverpool, Ormskirk and even further afield in places such as Chorley, Bolton, the Wirral.
2017 is set to be another huge year for our company and we have plans to match! We've put plans in motion to add many more items to our already vast range of inflatables and leisure products and we currently have products that have been manufactured but haven't been collected or shipped in time for delivery before the Christmas period, we also have products that are currently undergoing manufacture so will be arriving early 2017.
Other plans include a further expansion into neighboring towns, we've hired to areas such as Wigan, Warrington, Leigh, Chorley, Westleigh, Bolton, Astley, Tyldesley for many years but 2017 will see a greater impetus in these areas to cover demand from potential customers and clients.
Back to 2016, we had a fantastic year which started off with a lot of indoor hires of bouncy castles, rodeo bulls and the like in January and continued into early March.
February saw us return to the home of the Saints (St Helens RLFC) as part of the pre-entertainment programme and we covered more or less every home game for the Saints throughout the rugby league season including games such as the World Club Challenge game versus Sydney Roosters of Australia.
Around middle of March is when we hit overdrive and hire bookings come in thick and fast for dates close by but also for the future.
May, June and July see's an abundance of hires to colleges, schools (both primary and secondary), universities. We had a multi week hire back at Wigan and Leigh college with our fantastic deluxe photobooth and rodeo football which stretched from late May until middle of July, this hire involves multiple days a week hires of our photobooth and rodeo ride for students to use on their breaktime when visiting the college for a taster day.
We also carried out similar hires for colleges such as Cardinal Newman in Preston, Sutton Academy in St Helens and many more. A lot of schools, colleges and universities come back to SJ's Leisure year after year as they know that we carry full public liability insurance, all of our electrical equipment is PAT tested, our inflatable equipment is tested annually and visually inspected before and after every hire. We also have risk assessments, method statements and all other documentation available should anyone wish to see it. We also regularly rotate our stock so customers know they are getting the best value and the best product for their money. Our company also always strives to stay up to date with all of the latest health and safety training, qualifications and accreditation's and all of our staff are taught this information.
During June and July we also had the European football tournament in France which sparked a craze of football themed parties and events and there was a large demand for inflatable penalty shoot-outs, rodeo footballs and large velcro football dartboards.
As the summer progressed we also completed hires for well known corporate clients such as Travis Perkins, DHL, DPD, Manchester City Football Club, Warner Leisure hotels, Panasonic amongst others as well as private clients.
Throughout the year, we added new and exciting products to our range including our amazing 'Helter Skelter inflatable slide', our HUGE ' velcro football dartboard', stunning '3 in 1 sports games', 'Jungle Dash AKA Hungry Hippos' amongst over NINETY other fun and leisure products! September saw the introduction of the latest craze in the inflatable industry as a large, well known inflatable manufacturer (JB Inflatables) rolled out their latest offering - the Interactive Play System (IPS). Never one to be slow on the uptake, we set into motion new products to be manufactured to incorporate this fantastic piece of kit. This lead to some of our most exciting products 'coming to life' and we now are proud to have a totally unique, only one in the world inflatable in our 'IPS X-Over Bungee Run'. Other products which featured this system included our 'IPS LightsOut Wall' and our 'Interactive Play System Table'. 2017 will also see more of these products joining the range.
As the year progressed we entered Freshers week which again saw an abundance of hires to college, universities and schools. Shortly after this period we then had lots of 'spooky' hires with Halloween including a multi week hire for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer foundation over two events in Liverpool and St Helens with our disco domes. Following Halloween, there was lots more hires for Bonfire / Guy Fawkes night, birthday parties etc. November also saw our large velcro football dartboard at Manchester City Football Club as part of the pre-match entertainment programme versus Middlesbrough.
Up next, December, everyone loves December, Christmas! New Years celebrations along with the standard birthday parties, family get togethers and such.
December saw lots of Christmas events at schools, college, universities and also corporate clients such as DPD, Manchester United Football Club amongst many others. As always our star hire product during December was our 'Ronny' - our lovable rodeo reindeer. Other popular products included our deluxe Christmas bouncy castles, selection of Christmas games, large bouncy castles, gladiator duels, rodeo Christmas pudding ride, Santa's grotto's and much more. Well all that's left for me to type here is how much we've enjoyed 2016 and how much we are looking forward to 2017.
