PIPA tested bouncy castle hire throughout Cheshire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside!
When hiring a bouncy castle or inflatable, one of the main points to address before hiring is to check whether the inflatable has been recently tested.
Just like a car needs an M.O.T, a bouncy castle or inflatable needs a test to ensure that it still performs to the required standard. This may seem quite trivial, however, when you look at what a test checks for, you will realise that it is far from trivial.
To list just a few parts of the test;
- Is the inflatable flame retardant? - Flame retardants are compounds added to manufactured materials, such as plastics and textiles, and surface finishes and coatings that inhibit, suppress, or delay the production of flames to prevent the spread of fire.
- Is the entrance step long and wide enough to prevent accidents? - The entrance step on inflatables particularly bouncy castles must be long enough and wide enough to ensure that users are less likely to fall off and potentially injure themselves. The steps of the inflatables are calculated by the size of the inflatable.
- Are the slide walls tall enough and covered at the top? - On any inflatable that features a slide i.e. platform slide or a bouncy castle with a mini slide, the slide must have walls tall enough to prevent the maximum user height from falling over the side and also must have a 'cover' to the top of the slide to prevent users from standing at the top platform height.
- Entrapments? - All inflatables should be free from any entrapment point i.e. a gap between two walls of the inflatable for example the side and back wall of a bouncy castle. Gaps are allowed in inflatables but they must not be small enough to be considered a hazard for example a gap that an arm could be trapped in.
The inflatable safety tests are carried out by testers who test to the European inflatable standard ( BS:EN 14960 ). These tests can carry an RPII certificate, ADIPS certificate or a PIPA certificate.
PIPA has become one of the most stringent and thorough testing bodies around. For this reason, we have a range of PIPA tested and tagged inflatables available to hire throughout Cheshire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside.
We are supremely confident that any and all of our inflatables would pass a PIPA test and can arrange to have any inflatable PIPA tagged to suit your event requirements. PIPA tests are suitable for any inflatable or bouncy castle where the primary function is to bounce or slide. Therefore a bungee run for example wouldn't be suitable for a PIPA test as the primary function is not to bounce or slide.

Bouncy castles and inflatables under twelve months old come complete with a manufacturers test which comply to the BS : EN 14960 standard. This is one of the reasons why our range of inflatables are rarely over two years old as we regularly rotate our stock to ensure that our inflatables are of the required standard and feature all of the latest safety specifications.
